You can read the full set of race regulations here.
Most importantly
- no headphones are allowed at any point of the race for reasons of safety
- cut-off times are the time a runner must leave that checkpoint
- every runner must carry the full set of obligatory equipment at all times during their race, if you have any concerns spot checks can be made
- no pacing is allowed
- no assistance can be given to a runner outside a checkpoint
- 2 torches/headlights in good working order each WITH SPARE BATTERIES are essential for the 170 km Ultra Tour and the Mischabel 60 races
- supporters can only be permitted entry to a checkpoint while their runner is present (no waiting)
- no littering is permitted
NO HEADPHONES: we understand that music can provide a distraction from fatigue, but the UTMR route passes through rough alpine terrain that in places is prone to rockfall. This rule is an absolute, non-negotiable and use of headphones will result in instant disqualification of the runner. They have been warned! If you see a runner using headphones please confiscate them immediately. The ban covers all types of headphones, including open ear.
